For the libraries in Belgium CD-ROM offers a new range of possibilities and a whole lot of reference works will be searchable and much more used.Ex. As earlier sections amply demonstrate, there is a great deal of choice with regards to data bases.Ex. There is a good deal of scope for users and novice cataloguers to find difficulty in identifying the appropriate heading for many of the works which are the responsibility of corporate bodies.Ex. The computer can greatly assist in thesaurus compilation and updating.Ex. The method is sufficiently flexible to allow for wide modifications.Ex. In 'upper town' streets are broad, quiet, and tree-shaded; the homes are tall and heavy and look like battleships, each anchored in its private sea of grass.Ex. Fiction classifications are used extensively in public libraries.Ex. The landlord is as mad as a barrel load of monkeys, but a fine man and ex-soldier.Ex. 3 frml (sentir agrado o afición) gustar de, to enjoy: gusta de salir a pasear por las mañanas, he likes to have a walk in the morning
II vtr (degustar, probar) to taste
Gustar se traduce por to like: Me gusta esta música. I like this music.
I like to go to the dentist twice a year. Me gusta ir al dentista dos veces al año. Sería muy difícil que alguien dijera I like going to the dentist, porque significaría que disfruta haciéndolo.
En el modo condicional ( I would like) sólo se puede usar el infinitivo: I would like to go out tonight. Me gustaría salir esta noche.
